The Rise of Southern Cheese by Joe York and Matthew Graves, was featured at the 2008 NYC Food Film Festival, June 14th - 20th. The film is a look at artisinal cheese producers in the South. It chronicles three makers of fine Southern cheeses: Belle Chèvre, Elkmont, Alabama, Sweetgrass Dairy, Thomasville, Georgia, and Bonnie Blue Farm, Waynesboro, Tennessee.


Southern Foodways Alliance documents and celebrates the diverse food cultures of the American South. SFA is an institute of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture with headquarters at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.
