A Culinary Journey To Greece

Join Tasia Malakasis, head cheesemaker at Belle Chevre, on this all-inclusive trip to the behind-the-scenes culinary life of the gorgeous country of Greece. Eat and drink like a Greek during this week with gracious hostess Tasia, whose Greek family and friends will take you into their homes and kitchens for an authentic experience.

When

August 10 - August 17, 2012.  Participants are responsible for their own airfare to Athens, but beyond that the trip includes transportation, lodging, cooking courses, daytrips, food and drink. Everyone will meet in Athens on the morning of August 10 to travel together to the isle of Lefkada.

The Itinerary

This hands on culinary journey will allow members of the small group to experience the best of Greek cuisine from the inside.  Here's a sample of some of the activities on this fun and food-filled journey:

• Most of the week spent on the incredibly beautiful island of Lefkada
  
• Traditional Preveza cuisine featuring homemade phyllo, tapas, and gliko tou koutaliou (preserves)
  
• Explore the beautiful city of Parga and its historic markets, Turkish bazaar and old fort
  
• Various cooking demos and courses in the home of locals 
  
• A gorgeous evening spent cooking on Greek estate, grilling seafood and experiencing Greek "family time"
• Visiting local creameries and producers.
  
• Trip into Axerontas River of Greek mythology fame, where the dead had to pass to get to the underworld
• Dinner at famous taverns in Preveza, introduction to the famous tapa/tavern social life

Register

To register and reserve a spot on this exclusive luxury journey, all you have to do is download and turn in (via email@bellechevre.com or by snail mail) the registration form with a $500 deposit. The remaining balance is to be paid in two installments, the first ($2000) upon confirmation of registration and the second ($2000) by July 10.  The price of the trip includes transportation, lodging, cooking courses, daytrips, food and drink.
